Thank you and my commitment to keep getting things done

Dear All,

I would like to extend a huge thanks to the 19,757 local people who re-elected me as our MP last week, and to the hundreds of people who supported the campaign. I am grateful that you put your trust in me to continue working for the local area.

Of course, some people receiving this email would not have voted for me last week.  I would like to make clear that I will work for everyone in the neighbourhood regardless of how you voted last week – whether that is dealing with personal or local issues or listening to your views on national issues.  I have been elected to help and to represent everyone, and that is what I will do.

My priority remains getting things done for our local area.

This includes working with Executive Mayor Jason Perry on re-opening Purley Pool (the planning application is already in).

I will also work with the Department for Health and Social Care and Croydon Health Services NHS Trust to get a new medical centre in Coulsdon (I called the CEO to chase this up within hours of being re-elected last week). This will continue my work to support the local NHS that started with securing £21m for Croydon University Hospital’s new Accident & Emergency Department and working with residents to extend the opening hours at Purley GP Hub.

I am also working to ensure that Coulsdon gets a new banking hub, which is scheduled to open in March 2025.

I will also continue to work with the police to secure more officers across our neighbourhood, including Croydon town centre, building on the work I did in having facial recognition brought to Croydon – which I will seek to have continued.

I will also be pressing Westfield to get on with the new desperately needed development in Croydon town centre as fast as possible. Finally, I will keep fighting to protect the character of our neighbourhood from over-development.

I will of course continue to keep updated with news as it comes up, so please keep an eye on this and my Facebook and Instagram pages.

In the meantime, please do get in touch with me if I can be of any assistance to you or your family at any time.

Please do pass this email on to friends and neighbours who may be interested.

With best wishes,
