I am delighted to confirm that Optivo will no longer be passing on costs to leaseholders relating to fire remediation and interim works – which has particularly affected residents at Cygnus Court and 53 Whytecliffe Road South. This means that the costs of fixing historic defects will not be passed onto residents, nor will the costs of waking watch and alarm installations.
After many months of lobbying both the Government and Optivo on behalf of residents, I am thrilled that this news has now come. Leaseholders should not have had to go through the mental toil that came with the uncertainty and therefore I trust this news will come as a great relief.
Optivo have a list of FAQs relating to the announcement at https://www.optivo.org.uk/managing-your-home/fire-and-cladding/FAQs-about-fire-safety-remediation-costs.aspx
