Reddown Road Planning Success!

I write again with good news that a proposal to convert an existing family home at 1 Reddown Road to a block of six flats, along with a car and cycle parking, bin store and other associated works, was refused permission by officers on 28th December.

I am delighted planning decisions are now being properly made – either by the Planning Committee or officers – after careful consideration and with respect to well-reasoned objections. This proposed conversion was found to result in poor quality accommodation and negatively impact the privacy of neighbouring properties.

We need more homes, particularly for younger people. But much needed family homes in green suburbs should not be destroyed to make way for flats better suited to town centres and closer to central London. I am so pleased that the character of our neighbourhood is at long last being protected.
