The whole community is shocked by the fatal stabbing in Purley last night. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family. Police have made three arrests, and I am sure we will all give Officers any assistance which they need with this. The whole community should also provide whatever information they can more generally about any young people who are at risk of becoming involved in gangs or knife crime. This incident also makes clear the need to fully use stop and search powers to take knives off our streets, in the interests of the whole community.
