Dear All,
A quick reminder about the demonstration we are organising on Monday 1st April at 6:00pm on the steps of Croydon Town Hall, Katharine Street, Croydon CR0 1NX. This is to express our opposition to the Labour-run council’s indiscriminate passing of over 90% of contentious planning applications, many of which destroy family housing.
We believe the council should pursue a “Brownfield First” policy. There are enough sites in Croydon town centre and other brownfield sites to meet Croydon’s undoubted housing need for the next 10-13 years. These sites should be developed first, before family housing is destroyed.
There is a full council meeting starting at 6:30pm. At about 8:30pm planning will be debated, and the Conservative Group will move a motion for Area Planning Committees, which will bring control of planning closer to local areas. You can attend in the public gallery and watch this debate.
Please do forward this on to your friends and neighbours, along with the link to my petition here:

Please bring any signs or placards you feel suitable.
I am hoping to be at the Demo and council meeting myself, unless I am unavoidably detained in Parliament on Monday evening.
Best wishes,
Chris
