In Parliament yesterday. It is not “far right” to stand up for victims of mass rape, as the prime minister wrongly said yesterday morning. That kind of comment enabled this scandal to be covered up in the first place.
We need a full national statutory public enquiry. It would cover all towns affected, not just a few (as IICSA did) or where the town volunteers. It could summon witnesses and requisition evidence – which local inquiries (eg Manchester) cannot. Those who covered up must be exposed.
